Where does my being end, and yours begin? While we’re each unique and independent, when we stand next to each other, do we extend out beyond the physical boundaries of our bodies and mingle? Can we interact with each other at a level we can’t see with our eyes? Do our emotions connect and amplify in any way that’s measurable? And if we all synchronized our hopes for the future, could we even change the world? Is it already happening? My guest, Roger Nelson, helped answer some of these questions.
Roger Nelson is director of the Global Consciousness Project (GCP) which he founded in 1997 after retiring as research coordinator in the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) lab. Growing up in Nebraska, Roger admired the Native American ethic, beginning a lifelong engagement with cross-cultural wisdom. After college he served as a counterintelligence officer in the US Army in Germany, then took a PhD in cognitive psychology at New York University and worked at Columbia University, focusing on the lesser known aspects of perception.
